The brass foot valve drainage kit consists of a ½ MPT X ¾ MHT nipple and a female cap. It is used with Sure-Flo foot valves of at least 3''. These foot valves are equipped with a tapped output closed on the valve side. Replacing this output with the optional drainage kit makes it easier to lift the drainage pipe. The water inside the main pipe is drained as this same pipe is taken out of the water.
Installation
One end of a hose is attached to the male nipple which is put on the drainage device and the other end is equipped with the female cap.
Use
When ready to remove the drainage line, remove the female cap and put the hose into the water. The water inside the drainage pipe will drain as the main pipe is taken out of the water.
